Stem Lessons in Action!
The 7th grade Life Science teachers at AMS including Mrs. Summer Glancy, Mr. Alan Cook, and Mrs. Traci Newman are excited to share their latest STEM project focusing on helping the Eastern Bluebird population.
Students researched the Eastern Bluebird and why the species is subject to certain predators. Students also researched ways to protect the Eastern Bluebird and how to help it re-populate. Students looked at different types of Bird houses and which ones are more effective and how to protect against predators. Students then built 11 houses and placed them around the school, in essence creating a Bluebird Trail. Students visited the bird houses to collect data and recorded findings in their STEM journals. |
