Summer 2024: Voyager STEM Camp

This summer's highlights included expanding camp to be all day and getting to use a wide variety of tools while taking a voyage into space! Students explored drones, rockets, snap circuits, virtual reality, game design, LEGO Robotics, the STAR Lab, RVR robots, and a make and take rover.

Summer 2023: STEM Survivor

STEM Survivor Camp found students creating in unique ways to explore ways to survive disasters!
  • Students used math skills (measurement and geometry) to plan and build a cardboard house to withstand a tornado.
  • Small groups worked together to research different types of disasters and learn about stop motion animation. The groups created animated videos to depict the disaster and its aftermath.
  • Students found creative ways to code Sphero robots through an obstacle course of natural disasters. Iteration and perseverance were the key to success!

Summer 2022: STEMAZING Race

Students in grades 4 through 7 worked in small groups to solve team STEM challenges across the globe. Standards focused on world geography, science, math, computer science, and engineering.
Some of the highlights included:
  • USA: Indianapolis 500 Race using Sphero Indi robots
  • Panama: Building a Cargo Carrier to cross the Panama Canal
  • Brazil: Creating a bridge across the Amazon River
  • Greece: The Olympic Torch Relay
  • Italy: Chariot Races
  • India: Minecraft Taj Mahal
  • African Predator and Prey Battle Bots

Summer 2021: Mission Exploration

Mission Exploration found us exploring land, air, and sea! Computer Science skills were in demand as students spent time coding an app, drone, and robots! Students also explored virtual reality and the engineering design process.
